20.05.2015 - Cleaning #2

The Association Sauvegarde du leman (Association for the Protection of Lake Geneva) is organizing groups to combat a plant called Fallopia Japonica a fast growing invasive and poisonous plant that is taking over many of the sunny spots on the shores of Lake Geneva. This beach where I am collecting trash also has a problem with these pesky plants so I am taking advantage of the opportunity to team up with the association to help encourage the growth of native plants. After all, invasive plant species that choke out local plants are just one more type of pollution...

Notes :

The trash was mainly old stuff that had been clearly worn down by the wind and the water, lots of cigarete butts, 8 old q-tips, lots of foam that had been torn up by the lake. There were a few fresh deposits, the most striking being a rather sharp knife about 3 inches long.
